Description
Kan'non no odori (Guanyin's Dance) is a depiction of the healing Goddess Guanyin a.k.a. Guanyishin, Kuan Yin, Kannon.
Here she is depicted performing a graceful dance move, a bunch of medicinal herbs in one hand
motifs in the background are reminiscent of traditional Oriental paintings. Red is , a flask of healing potion in the other. Her facial features are Oriental as evident from the slant of her eyes, and the hairdo/ accessories inspired from the traditional Japanese hairstyles that are typically elaborate and exquisite. I have employed layers of textures to execute her gown and stole.
In eastern legends she is believed to manifest herself in the physical world in form of nature; symbolized here as flowers and greens surrounding her bodily form. The bright red/ Vermillion and fine gold also the colour of fire and molten gold in its purest form; a symbol of purity!
