Description
This particular painting is my own rendition of the different elements, i.e. air, fire, water and earth. The emphasis, however, is on the fifth element - the human, who takes centre stage herein. The background symbolises air and the colour red symbolises fire. The fish and the bubbles together represent water. While the picture, on a whole, represents earth, the bubbles too, are intended to be a microcosm of earth itself.
Here, the heart is a separate element entirely, which overpowers and drives the most important element in the picture, i.e., the girl. In the background, the castle intends to signify the society. The dark entities, with their disturbing gaze, depict the society's inescapable scrutiny and criticism that befall the girl, owing to her 'sin' of following her heart and wanting to free her spirit.
