Born in Chandrahaar, a small beautiful quaint hamlet in Barisal district of undivided India (now Bangladesh) in 1943, life soon moved into West Bengal during the tumultuous days of Indian Independence, grew up in a sublime town of Giridih of erstwhile Bihar region and graduated in Fine Arts from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Kolkata in 1966.
